Planning when nothing is being planned.

I am in the process of planning my spring Disney World Trip, and nothing is going right.

Originally, I was planning on going over Mother’s Day weekend with my daughter and some friends, but the friends cannot make it now. Also, my husband and son were going to be out of the country, but now their trip got postponed until November.

After that, we had tried to work the trip around meeting our friends there in April.

But nothing has been planning out. The only weekend they can go, all DVC rooms are taken. They are on the waitlist, and will know in about 10 days if they are going or not. My daughter doesn’t really want to go without friends, so she may not be going at all. We still have a slight chance of meeting some friends there in mid-may when they are going to or coming off of their cruise out of Port Canaveral. But, they haven’t set anything in stone yet. At this point, I’m thinking that this might be my first solo trip!

I haven’t traveled by myself in probably two decades. I know people do it all the time. I like being alone and being by myself. I think I would spend more time doing the so called “filler attractions”. Like the movies and all of the rides with no lines and the shows. Most people don’t want to “waste” their precious DIsney time on these, but I do! And I will probably eat every meal at a different food booth in Epcot. Have you seen the Flower and Garden Menus? I would also stop and stare at all of the beautiful flower displays. For like ever. But also as I am eating all of my Flower and Garden snacks. And I think I’d bring a book to read while I am eating and staring at the plants. Plus I would have ample time to test things out and write for my blog in real time. But also ride some fun rides and get some lightening lanes. Oh, and maybe spend some time at the resorts.

So what to do as I wait?

I go into Numbers and put together spreadsheets on the costs of certain trips. Like, what is the current rate for airfare and hotel for a certain week. That’s it. I put together like a ton of these. Dream about staying at some hotels, but rejoice when AllStars is actually available.

Well, I know for sure I am at least going, and I know that I am going to feast on the Flower and Garden food booth goodies! And that will have to do for now, even though I get antsy when I think about not having a trip booked!
