The skeleton of our trip was a 3 night stay at the Polynesian Resort and Two days of park hopper tickets. We flew in on a Monday and out on Thursday Afternoon. I’ll go day by day to say what we did.
Monday – Travel Day!! We all met up at a local Sam’s Club and then my husband drove us to the airport. Travel went without a hitch. it was perfect. We landed and grabbed our rental car and drove straight to Recycling the Magic which is a thrift store that only has disney merchandise. It was really fun to see all of the collectibles, toys, and loungeflys! From there we drove to Winter Park and had a quick dinner at Three birds Cafe. It was delicious, but pricey! about $25 each after drinks and tips. We were laughing about how we now had to be in the bubble to save money on food!
My friend and I shared the pesto chicken sandwich and the three birds salad. I got some coffee also. We tried to go to Rosalie’s pastry shop, but got stuck in line and after 10 min.of not moving we decided to bail and grab dessert in the bubble.
After checking out Winter park, we drove to the target on the way to the hotel. It was super nice! We grabbed some snacks, water, and toilet paper! Then, finally we made it to the Poly and checked in! I really love that hotel, especially at night. It is gorgeous and magical. We rented the deluxe studio using DVC points. It is one of the best rooms on property because the deluxe studio has two-ish bathrooms! one bathroom has a shower and a sink, and the other bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink. This helps immensely on a girls trip. It made getting ready for bed and for the morning much easier!
At this point, my friend and i snuck off to use the Lightneing Lane that we got for Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot! Having an annual pass is very, very fun! It actually went down while we were in line, so we went out the back exit and got another LL for the next day. We went over to Test Track and rode in the single rider line. She was in the car behind mine. I love that ride and all of the changes they made. It’s really fun!
After that we went back to the hotel to meet the girls for a late dinner. I got the kids chicken nuggets and fries and i forgot to get my chocolate milk! My friend and i shared the pineapple cupcake. It was good. Nothing spectacular, but very good. I imagine if we had waited for it to warm up from being in the fridge it wud have been better. I did like the pineapple filling, but not the icing so much.
