If you missed it, Part 1 covers our slow morning at Kona Cafe, the Epcot food crawl through France and Germany, and our rainy dash to Columbia Harbour House. Once the rain stopped, the real Magic Kingdom evening began.

Magic Kingdom After Dark and a Hallmark Movie Cameo

After this we needed coffee, so we went to Main Street and each grabbed coffee at Starbucks and then went shopping at The Emporium. We didn't get anything, and then decided to go take a ride on the People Mover since we missed it last time, and our Lightning Lane for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was delayed due to the rain.

That was so relaxing and fun! We actually rode it twice because it was still drizzling, and when we came back around to get off, it had started raining a little harder. We rode again, and by the time we finished, the rain had stopped and we put our rain coats away. Perfect timing!

After the People Mover, Seven Dwarfs was back up and running so we went and rode that. That is such a cute and fun roller coaster! We had a blast on that one! Our next Lightning Lane was Haunted Mansion. I love that ride too, so spooky and fun!

After Haunted Mansion, we grabbed our free snacks from the snack cart.

  • Churros
  • Popcorn
  • A strawberry bar
  • A Mickey pretzel

One of our friends was done by this point in the night. She was super tired and left to go back to the hotel. This was probably right around 9:00.

The rest of us decided to keep going and rode Pirates with absolutely zero line. It was a walk-on during fireworks. We had extra evening hours at this point, so we went to ride Space Mountain, since it had been down during our Lightning Lane window too. There was a line to get in because they were checking people's wristbands, even though the walk to the ride was only five minutes. I did notice, however, that people were going in the Lightning Lane, so I asked, and sure enough, since we hadn't used our Lightning Lane that day, we were allowed to skip the line and use it to ride Space Mountain during the extra evening hours! That was a fun surprise!

I was really scared to ride this because it was in the dark and people talk about how it jerks you around so much, but I loved it! I was sure to ride in the front row so I could see the tracks. That always makes me feel better!

After Space, the other girls wanted to ride Tron, but I wasn't a huge fan, so I took off. I was going to ride Barnstormer, but I rode It's a Small World instead. I love that sweet little ride, and I love the care that goes into the costumes. It was a perfect use of time too, because when I got off the ride and walked back over to Tron, the girls were done, and we both noticed that Seven Dwarfs only had a seven minute line! Seven minutes! It was crazy. So we rode that one again, and then the evening rides were over.

We walked out by the castle and got some photos with the castle lights. As we were walking down Main Street, we noticed they were filming something! They had a huge crane camera pointed at the tree. It was the Hallmark Christmas movie being filmed at Disney World! We saw the back of Lacey Chabert's head as she was turning the corner. Our big claim to fame!

It was such a fun evening and a great day altogether, and we were exhausted! We decided to take the boat home, and that was a beautiful and fun ride. I love taking boats at night and watching the lights on the water. Perfect ending to a perfect day!
